Hydrilla Updates

Hydrilla verticillata was discovered by the Floating Classroom on Cayuga Inlet during August, 2011.

This is the first discovery of hydrilla in the Great Lakes Basin, and it must be contained before spreading beyond the Cayuga Inlet.  A multi-agency Task Force has formed to oversee eradication and control efforts. The Cayuga Lake Floating Classroom and Tiohero Tours will host volunteer monitoring and educational opportunities for individuals and groups throughout the year.
