Floating Classroom Eco-Cruises!

Citizen Science & Hands-On Exploration for all ages! 
Eco-Cruises are a must for Finger Lakes visitors and residents who want to know more!  
Your eco-cruise fares & donations help us provide $25,000 in scholarships to schools and organizations studying Cayuga Lake with us each year!

Sunday, July 7- Cornell AUV Team!  AUV stands for "Automated Underwater Vehicle" built by Cornell students for missions underwater.  We'll launch their AUV and see what's below the surface!

Thursday, July 11- Great American Secchi Dip-In.  Help the Floating Classroom participate in the international effort to monitoring North American Lakes!  Learn a powerful and basic technique that anyone can use.

Coming Up (Dates TBA): 

Genetically Engineered Machines Club.  CU students will share their plan to use micro-organisms as indicators of pollution in our lake!

Predicting Lake Turnover!  We'll use a "Hydrolab" sensor to create a profile of water conditions as Cayuga approachs Fall Turnover!
Zebra and Quagga Mussels
Invasives & Locals in Cayuga! Today, we will focus on the role and outlook for a variety of invasive species impacting Cayuga Lake- zebra mussels, hydrilla and more. Meet 'em up close and personal!

Family Lake Exploration Day! 
This is the perfect time to enjoy Cayuga with friends and family, and keep everyone busy. We'll offer an opportunity for hands-on lake-science activities, based on the interests of our guests (you!) and lake conditions.
