Lansing Harborfest!

We did three short Eco-Cruises from Lansing's Harbor Festival today. Although it was windy we did some plankton samples, secchi disk tests and pH tests. We also got some plant samples (and almost lost a rake!).

The photo above shows lake clarity as we have measured it over the past few years. Points lower on the chart mean that the lake is more clear, while points higher on the chart mean that the lake is less clear. As you can see, there is a somewhat predictable yearly cycle, with the lake being more clear in the spring and fall and less clear in the summer, but there are also yearly changes. We keep track of these changes so that we can have as much information as possible about our lake.
